Top 10 Sub 4-meter Compact SUVs in India As Per Sales Data
  1. The third position was acquired by Tata Nexon with 8,683 units in March 2021 compared to 2,646 units in March 2020. Thus, a big jump of 228% in sales numbers was achieved. Earlier, Kia Sonet used to get this rank.
  2. Kia Sonet is a newbie in the market which launched last year only. It received a total sales of 8,498 units.
  3. Ford Ecosport is a bit too old now in the segment and was in fact the initiator of this segment in India. It is still going good with 5,487 units being sold inMarch 2021 compared to 2,197 units in March 2020, acquiring 149.7% hike in sales chart.
  4. Renault Kiger is the latest entrant in the segment and instantly became popular due to its robust styling, reasonably good performance and affordable aftersales. It grabbed the sixth position upon selling 3,839 units in March this year.
  5. Toyota Urban Cruiser is the rebadged Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. It gets everything from the donor vehicle except slightly changed face and Toyota logo here and there. It achieved 3,162 unit sales in the said time.
  6. Nissan Magnite is the sister vehicle of Renault Kiger and has a huge waiting period due to affordable pricing, good performance and solid styling. It reached 2,987 customers in the 3rd month of 2021.
  7. Mahindra XUV300 is the second vehicle after Tata Nexon to get a 5-star safety rating, making it one of the safest affordable cars. It received a 217.8% hike on sales chart with 2,587 units being sold in March 2021 compared to 814 units dispatched in March 2021.
  8. Last but not the least Honda WR-V is the top gainer in terms of growth with a humongous 1037% hike in total sale, while the least gainer in terms of total number of vehicles sold. A total of 978 units of WR-V reached their owners in March 2021 compared to 86 units in March 2020.So, are you planning to buy a compact SUV as well?
