Explore the new Citroen C3 automatic variants, featuring a 6-speed torque converter gearbox and enhanced features inspired by the Basalt coupe SUV. Prices start at ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Citroen C3 automatic, which is now the only car in its segment to come with a 6-speed torque converter, introduced by Citroen. As Citroen has launched its Basalt Coupe SUV they have integrated those design and features into its C3 and C3 Aircross models to enhance further.
The Citroen C3 automatic is available only with the Puretech 100 turbocharged powertrain. The automatic gearbox option is available on the top-spec Shine trim, with prices starting at ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom).
Buyers can also customise their vehicle with the optional dual-tone roof and Vibe Pack, with the highest-priced variant, the C3 Shine 1.2 Turbo AT Vibe Pack Dual-Tone, listed at ₹10.27 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 6-speed automatic gearbox comes at an additional cost of ₹85,000 over the 6-speed manual version. In contrast, rivals such as the Hyundai Exter and the updated Tata Punch offer only a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission, positioning the C3 ahead in terms of transmission technology.
Citroen has significantly upgraded the C3 hatchback, drawing features from the recently launched Basalt Coupe SUV. This follows early criticisms of the C3’s under-equipped and basic offerings when it first debuted.
Key upgrades include
These new features offer a more refined driving experience, addressing past concerns and making the C3 more competitive in the market.
The Citroen C3 automatic retains the same powertrain options as before. Both engines are 1.2L 3-cylinder units:
These engine choices, paired with the new automatic transmission, position the Citroen C3 as a more appealing option in the compact hatchback segment.
With the introduction of the automatic variant, Citroen aims to make the C3 a stronger contender in India’s highly competitive hatchback market. By offering advanced features like a 6-speed torque converter and borrowing styling cues from its premium sibling, the Basalt Coupe SUV, the Citroen C3 brings both performance and refinement to the table.
