Discover the BMW R 12 S: A single-seat retro-styled motorcycle with 108 bhp, a Lava Orange finish, and a nod to the iconic R 90 S. Will it come to India?

BMW R 12 S Unveiled: A Homage to the Iconic R 90 S

In homage to the iconic R 90 S of the 1970s, BMW Motorrad has unveiled the R 12 S, a vintage-looking motorbike built around the R 12 nineT. The R 12 S is intended for aficionados looking for the ideal balance of traditional style and cutting-edge performance, and it combines a historical design with contemporary engineering.

Old Design with Modern Touches

The R 12 S is offered exclusively in this striking color scheme, reminiscent of the iconic 1970s style.
Red double linework and orange contrast stitching on the seat enhance its retro appeal. Brushed aluminum accents on the tank and seat hump add a touch of elegance.
The single-seat configuration, paired with a small front cowl, reinforces its vintage design language while ensuring a clean, purposeful look.

Performance and Powertrain

The BMW R 12 S is equipped with an amazing powertrain option that exactly shows the sporty legacy. It comes with an air-oil cooled, four stroke boxer two cylinder engine of 1,170 cc. In terms of power it can deliver 108 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 115 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. It features a 6-speed gearbox with a shaft drive that provides power to the rear wheel.

Will It Come to India?

While the R 12 S has made its global debut, there is no official word on its availability in the Indian market. However, given the popularity of retro-styled motorcycles, enthusiasts are hopeful for its arrival.
