► Plans to bring the total charging point units to 1400 by end of FY23

Ather Energy Plans To have 1400 charging point units by end of FY23

Ather Energy announced today the installation of the 580th public fast charging point, the Ather Grid, in 56 Indian cities. As it grows its national reach, Ather Energy expects to install 820 more grids, bringing the total to 1400 by the end of FY23. Ather Grids have been carefully distributed throughout markets, with 60% of current installations located in tier-II and tier-III cities.

Ather Energy has been developing a comprehensive charging infrastructure to support the growth of the EV sector and promote a smooth transition to EVs since its start. The Ather Grid enables electric car owners to charge their vehicles up to 80% at 1.5 km/h. The Ather Grid app, which allows all EV owners to identify and check the availability of nearby charging stations in real-time, supports the charging network. The rapid charging network is available to all electric two-wheelers and electric four-wheelers, and it is free of charge until the end of December 2022.

Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, commented on the achievement, saying, "It has been our endeavor since conception to provide accessible charging infrastructure in order to accelerate EV adoption." As demand develops and our retail network expands into new areas, it becomes critical that we back the development with significant investments in charging infrastructure. We just opened up our proprietary charging connector for any OEM to use, in addition to setting up charging sites. When it comes to infrastructure, we believe that OEMs must collaborate, and interoperability is a crucial necessity for collaboration. Interoperability via a single charging port incentivizes OEMs and independent charging infrastructure operators to make larger expenditures in charging infrastructure. We remain dedicated to building up Ather Grid and collaborating with other OEMs to establish a scalable and interoperable charging environment."

Ather Energy has collaborated with many businesses, including Park+ and Magenta Power, as well as signed an MoU with the Government of Karnataka, to establish EV charging stations in various cities. Ather Energy will continue to collaborate with more innovative hosts who can provide EV users with simple access, alleviate range anxiety, and facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles. Ather Energy also collaborates with Co-operative Housing Societies and Owners' Associations to assist Ather owners in installing home charging systems in their apartments and buildings.
