NXG, the new upcoming electric scooter to be added in the premium e-scooter line of Ampere, has spotted testing.

Ampere NXG Testing Spotted, E-Scooter Will Launch Soon

Key Highlights:

  • Ampere NXG spotted testing
  • NXG is supposed to focus on the private buyers

Recently Ampere got into the limelight in the Auto Expo 2023. The two-wheeler manufacturing brand showcased two of its upcoming e-scooter models. One of the two most awaited models, NXG has been spotted testing recently. It is expected to launch in the first half of 2024. NXG, is supposed to focus on the private buyers and is going to be posted as a premium option in the Ampere line-up and will be put above the new Primus.

Though the scooter has not been given any badging, its styling shows that the new Ampere NXG e-scooter is the same which was displayed in the auto expo last year.

The Ampere NXG is designed to be a premium vehicle, as evidenced by features like flush-mounting footpegs, all-LED lighting, and the first-ever front disc brake on an Ampere.

The pictures show a sizable digital display that almost completely fills the handlebar area, but it's unclear if this is an LCD or TFT unit. Though we'll have to wait to ride the NXG before making a definitive judgment, it looks to be a reasonably roomy scooter. There is a sizable grab handle for the passenger, and the one-piece seat seems to gently curve upward toward the pillion's area.

The NXG is expected to have a claimed range of 120 km on a single charge, according to Ampere's claims at the Auto Expo. However, it is unclear exactly how much capacity the device will have and whether this is a certified figure or a realistic estimate. It's also unclear if the lithium-ion battery used by the NXG will be the same as the lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) battery used by the Primus. Compared to its more common NMC counterpart, the latter chemistry has a lower energy density but safer thermal properties.
