The all new Mahindra XUV500 was scheduled to be launched by mid 2021, however it may not see the showrooms that early. The automotive world is currently facing huge shortage of semiconductors and Mahindra is a part of it.
Mahindra was supposed to be coming up with 2 of its highly popular SUV’s 2nd generation by the end of this year. However, Scorpio was already delayed to the next year. Now, one of the leading automotive portals in India has stated that instead of mid 2021, the new XUV500 will be introduced in the period between September and November 2021. Both these SUVs were on duty since long and their future versions are being tested on multiple terrains. These SUVs were spotted while cruising on highways, climbing high altitude locations, extreme weather and in various other geographies and situations. This ensures the efforts Mahindra is putting behind building these two robust SUVs. While the JV between Mahindra and Ford has already broken, the Indian brand will be focussing completely on their own products and won’t be sharing the new XUV500 platform with the American giant. The Mahindra XUV500 has always been a monocoque chassis based SUV. With the 2021 iteration, it will be getting new engines as well along with new platform and design. There will be a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that will churn out close to 190PS of power and 380Nm of torque. It will come paired with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter transmissions. The diesel mill on offer will be a 2.2-litre mHawk unit. It will be tuned to produce as good as 170PS of power with 380Nm of torque. This engine will also come paired to similar transmissions as the petrol units. Whie Scorpio is still far sighted for its launch, we are expecting the XUV500’s engines to power it as well. Scorpio will come with a ladder frame just like the current vehicle and will be positioned below XUV500. The XUV500 will still carry its bold and tough looks to impress you. In terms of features, it will come will all the bells and whistles that the current gen vehicle has along with the new gizmos including a bigger touch screen system, wider and ventilated seats, more comfortable 3rd row, LED DRLS, LED headlamps and fog lamps, better off-road and rough terrain abilities, enhanced safety and a lot to count in.The all new Mahindra Thar became a super hit among the masses and currently stands ona 10 months waiting period.DO you think that the new XUV500 and Scorpio will be able to nail this number?
