Owning a superbike or performance bike in India is a dream admired by millenials and gen z. Enthusiasts are so crazy behind these mean machines that the greed to have a unique, rare and admirable mean machine sometimes ends up getting their prized possession abandoned.
Here are three images which show how brutal days are being experienced by these bikes and their almost no chance for them to get back to the tarmac. Have a look.
1. 5 Bombs at onceIndian auto market has evolved a lot with time and A lot of manufacturers have set up their plants to assemble and manufacture sports and performance bikes. However, there are bikes which aren’t available in India but can be imported and registered here. Usually the mid size bikes that range from 600cc and above attract hefty taxes if imported via the CBU route in India.
To skip the heavy taxes, the admirers of these bikes look for other methods to get their bike, which perhaps isn’t legal. The 5 bikes in the image below could be among those bikes which were imported through illegal routes and seized to death. These bikes include one of the KOnica Minolta limited edition Honda CBR600RR along with another CBR Repsol edition replica. Apart from these two, there are Yamaha FZ1, Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, and Honda CBR600RR.
2. Ducati 1098 SA similar story happened with the Ducati 1098 S which is currently lying in a police station in Kochi. This is a limited edition bike which is also known as the Tricolor edition. This bike was introduced in 2007 and has a 1100cc engine which is a blast when it comes to power and performance. Also, the Italian manufacturer produced only 1013 units of this bike, making it extremely rare to find one.
The abandoned bike still shows the rare golden detailing on the wheels and engine. It was built around a tubular steel trellis frame and was meant to be ridden on track only.
3. Yamaha R1 The Yamaha R1 is among the favourites and high performance bikes. It has the calibre to beat bike in a range above its segment. It comes with a 1.0-litre engine which generates enough power to shake the ground.
Sadly, this bike is seeing such atrocious times all because of its owner. This bike seems to be a seized during the countrywide DRI breakdown that happened a few years back. The bike though looks to be in a restorable shape, but unfortunately, it’ll be spending its rest of the life like this only.
