New Tata Safari is anticipated to be unveiled with minor updates in the cabin. Tata Motors recently added several features to its SUV, including ADAS.
Tata Motors has been continuously updating its portfolio and launching new limited editions for selected car models; this leading car manufacturer may soon unveil the mid-life facelift for some popular offerings like Tata Safari. A highly configured three-row SUV was recently spotted during road tests in Bengaluru. Tata Motors is continuously working overtime and testing the upcoming variants of Safari to improve sales figures that fall behind the top rivals like Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.
Going through the latest test mule spotted on the roads of Bengaluru, the SUV gets a horizontally designed front grille rather than the arrow-shaped motifs available in current variants. New Safari has retained the split headlight style but will pack a vertically shaped design to replace angular ones.
The carmaker has replaced the honeycomb air dam with horizontal slats. Though the SUV looks identical to existing models from the side profile, the new version gets black alloy wheels. Additionally, Tata has added a new tail light cluster while other parts of the rear have kept the same.
The 2024 Tata Safari is anticipated to offer minor updates inside the cabin, as the company has already introduced many features to make its vehicle comfortable and ambient for customers.
The most important update the SUV can get is an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), panoramic sunroof, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), and 6-way power driver seat. The car manufacturer may also offer fully-ventilated seats at the front and second row of the cabin and a 360-degree camera.
As the test mule of Tata Safari was spotted with a KA number plate, it's anticipated that the SUV was being tested by component manufacturers that suggest the car may feature a petrol or even all-electric powertrain. If the SUV is offered in a petrol variant, it may have a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine capable of delivering 170 bhp power and 280 Nm of peak torque.
However, if the car continues to be offered in a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine, it will pack 170 bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, the 2024 Tata Safari can be launched with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission option.
After showcasing an all-electric version of Harrier, the all-electric Safari may also be introduced in the coming months. However, no details or updates regarding this matter were confirmed by Tata Motors.
