Engine – Power and Handling

The Yamaha FZS FI model features an air-cooled 4S 149cc SOHC fuel-injection engine with optimized settings to allow laidback and upright riding position. This engine mates with a 5-speed transmission system and delivers 12.4ps power and 13.3Nm torque. The sterling quality of the FZS FI is its quick initial pickup and smooth passing acceleration.

The Pulsar NS 200 runs on a patented Triple Spark BS6 DTS-I FI 199.5cc engine to produce 18 kW of pure raw power and 18.5Nm torque. The highlight of the engine is the advanced cooling system that ensures optimum performance even when at high temperatures.

Safety Features

Bluetooth Connect allows you to communicate with the vehicle, take calls while riding easily, and even lock/unlock the vehicle using your smartphone. The 140mm radial tyre for the rear wheel offers low rolling resistance and delivers excellent grip on the roads even in slippery driving conditions. The inbuilt side-stand engine cut-off switch is another excellent safety feature. The front-wheel features ABS to improve braking performance, stability, and control. The FZ legacy rear braking system adds to the overall safety.

The Pulsar NS 200 features 300mm disc brakes on the front wheel with single-channel ABS to provide the ultimate stability when braking at high speeds. The 230mm rear disc brakes ensure that the rear wheel does not skid when braking at speeds. In addition, the powerful headlamps illuminate vast stretches of the road ahead to provide excellent visibility and ensure a safe ride.

Colour Variants and Pricing

The FZS FI offers five exciting colour options and comes priced in the range of Rs 110,700 to Rs 112,700.The Pulsar NS 200 is available with four colour options with a pricing range starting from Rs 140,544.

Verdict

Performance-wise, the Pulsar NS 200 is more robust as it features an extremely powerful engine. However, the FZS FI is also an efficient performer with innovative features like 24 x 7 connectivity. Either way, you have excellent options on hand.
