The Design

The TVS Apache RTR 160 has an imposing presence accentuated by its stylish LED headlamps to ensure clear visibility. The analogue display provides all the information you need. This stylish bike features high-quality LED tail lamps to create an unmistakeable design. The aerodynamic shape ensures that the motorcycle cuts through the air effortlessly while the tank cowl lowers drag and reduces engine heat by 10 degrees Celsius.

While the Apache RTR 160 has classy looks, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 sports an aggressive design with laser-edged graphics, premium new paint, instrument cluster graphics, carbon fibre accents, and wolf-eyed headlamps. The Pulsar has an upright stance with a balanced seating arrangement for the rider and pillion.

The Engine – Power and Handling

The Apache RTR 160 draws its immense power from a BS6 race-tuned FI engine with an optimized intelligence system to ensure lightning-fast acceleration. In addition, this vehicle comes with a unique feature where you release the clutch slowly and move effortlessly without any throttle operation. This 160cc engine ensures high power of 15.53ps and torque of 13.9Nm.

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 gets a powerful 150cc DTS-I engine capable of producing 14ps power and enhanced 13.25Nm torque. Though it is slightly less than the Apache RTR 160, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 engine is amongst the best in terms of performance amongst bikes in its segment.

Safety Features

The Apache RTR 160 features single-channel super-moto ABS that gives the race total braking control and ensures comfortable turning around sharp corners. Both the wheels get disc brakes for additional stability. The Remora tyres provide the best grip on any riding surface. In addition, it allows improved braking without skidding even at high speeds.
The Bajaj Pulsar 150 features a 1320mm wheelbase and tubeless tyres to ensure superior stability. In addition, the vehicle comes equipped with a 260mm ventilated disc brake for the front wheel with ABS technology to ensure an ultra-safe braking performance, even in inhospitable riding conditions. The shock absorber arrangement includes telescopic front forks and adjustable nitrox rear suspensions.

Colour variants and pricing

The TVS Apache RTR 160 is available in six colours and two variants (drum and disc brake options). The drum brake-equipped bike is available at Rs 106,365, whereas the disc brake version costs Rs 3,000 more.

The Pulsar 150 offers three variants, the 150 Neon, 150 SD, and 150 Twin Disc. The pricing depends on the variant, with the 150 Neon available at Rs 98,291, the 150 SD at Rs 104,365, and the 150 Twin Disc at Rs 107,366. In addition, the Pulsar 150 offers four colour options.

CarBike360 Says

Both the Apache RTR 160 and Pulsar 150 are priced similarly. The Apache RTR 160 has a slight edge because of its more powerful engine. However, the Pulsar 150 is also a decent offering, especially the Twin Disc variant that offers excellent safety.
