Urban Cruiser vs. Venue Comparison

The Urban Cruiser lives up to its reputation as Toyota’s youngest SUV as it exudes passion in every inch of its body structure. Besides, the Urban Cruiser performs like a veteran by delivering excellent mileage and high-quality comfort to its occupants.

Like the Urban Cruiser, the Hyundai venue is also a young vehicle. Thus, you find the Venue displaying the exuberance of youth with its sporty appearance. Besides, the Hyundai Venue offers excellent connectivity features to qualify as an SUV with flair.

Exteriors Looks

The Urban Cruiser has an imposing look with its massive grille and the Toyota logo at the centre. The dual-tone body colour and the dual headlamps add to the overall personality of this heavy-duty vehicle.

The front LED fog lamps accentuate visibility in dim lighting conditions. In addition, the split LED rear combination lamps placed high on the tailgate add to the vehicle’s height to make it look taller.

The Hyundai Venue is available in six colours and one dual-tone version to make heads turn wherever it goes. The bold front grilled with the exquisitely shaped headlamps and LEDs adds to the vehicle’s sporty feel. The sunroof is a defining feature that makes the Venue one of the most charming SUVs. The projector fog lamps enhance overall visibility. In addition, the electric folding ORVM increases the driver’s confidence to the next level.

Interiors and Comfort

The best part of the Urban Cruiser is the amount of space it offers to its occupants. The all-black interior and the alluring dark-tone brown premium interiors gel perfectly to deliver a luxurious feel. The steering wheel comes at the perfect height to enable the driver to have a fantastic view of the road ahead. Features like Auto AC, front armrest with storage, and rear armrest with cupholders add to the excitement. The 17.78cm touchscreen SmartPlay infotainment with four speakers and tweeters provides the right entertainment.

Like the Urban Cruiser, the Hyundai Venue also offers excellent space in the interiors for its occupants. The black upholstery matches the black interior trim to make it one of the most beautiful interiors in an SUV. The different themes available on the Hyundai Venue adds to the overall exclusiveness. Features like air purifiers, wireless phone chargers, and rear AC vents add to the convenience. The 20.32cm AVN with Telematics acts as an interface between you and Blue Link and allows you to explore experimental features at a touch. In addition, it offers the perfect space to store your luggage.

Engine and Performance

The Urban Cruiser draws its power from the all-new K-Series 1.5L gasoline engine that combines with a manual or automatic transmission system to deliver excellent mileage performance. The AT version features a robust Li-ion battery with superior crash resiliency and higher rigidity. In addition, features like Torque Assist, Idle Start/Stop, and Brake Regeneration make the Urban Cruiser an excellent performer under all conditions.

The Hyundai Venue features a 1.2L BS6 petrol engine with Kappa Dual VTVT technology to deliver maximum power of 83ps @ 6000rpm and 11.6kgm torque @ 4000rpm. In addition, the Hyundai Venue offers Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) to offer a clutch pedal-free driving experience. This vehicle features a 7-speed DCT along with a 6-speed manual transmission system for a smoother drive.

Ride, Handling, and Safety

The Urban Cruiser offers high-quality safety and comfort. The body structure made of high-tensile steel makes this vehicle one of the safest in its segment. The SUV comes with the mandatory two airbags for the front-seat passengers. The AT variants get features like Hill Hold Control to prevent sliding down gradients. All the variants feature ABS and EBD. The Electro-chromatic rearview mirrors and the reverse parking cameras add to the overall safety of the SUV.

The Hyundai venue offers six airbags as compared to the Urban Cruiser that offers two frontal airbags. The rear parking assist system with a rear parking camera allows easy parking. The HSS body structure enhances collision durability to offer better passenger protection. Features like cornering lamps improve visibility at the corners. The Auto headlamps with Escort function is an excellent feature to have on the Venue. Other exciting safety features include Isofix Child seat anchorage, speed-sensing door lock, and the impact-sensing door open feature to enhance safety levels.

CarBike360 Says

If the exuberance of youth enamours you, the Toyota Urban Cruiser should be an ideal choice. However, the Urban Cruiser comes at Rs 8.62 lakhs, whereas the top-end Premium AT model is available for Rs 11.40 lakhs.

On the other hand, the Hyundai Venue pricing starts at Rs 6.99 lakhs and the top-end vehicle at around Rs 11.85 lakhs. Though the pricing is approximately similar, the Hyundai Venue is less expensive, especially the base variants. Therefore, it is an ideal vehicle to purchase if you are looking for a sporty vehicle. However, the Urban Cruiser is also a good vehicle because of its sturdy stance and pure SUV personality.
