Harrier vs. Seltos Comparison

The Tata Harrier is an out-and-out SUV with its bold and stunning looks. This SUV has a Land Rover pedigree and comes with exciting features and advanced features to qualify as one of the safest SUVs on Indian roads.

The Kia Seltos is a bigger and better vehicle than the Kia Sonet, with a more muscular body structure. As a result, it can match the Tata Harrier in its looks and performance. Besides, the UVO platform makes the Kia Seltos one of the most connected cars in India.

Exterior Looks

While the Tata Harrier has an unmistakable road presence, the R17 2-tone diamond cut alloys enhance its features to the next level. The frontal fascia has an exhilarating look with its broad grille as its stand-out feature. The Xenon HID projector headlamps add to the vehicle’s dynamism besides illuminating the road ahead. The sporty piano black finisher and the 3D LED tail lamps accentuate the vehicle’s elegance and make the vehicle look stunningly imposing. Finally, the sunroof gives the Tata Harrier an entirely new perspective.

Compared to the Tata Harrier, the Kia Seltos offers five dual-tone variants besides seven single-hued exteriors. Like the Harrier, the Seltos exudes an imposing look with its high SUV stance and LED headlights placed at the perfect level to illuminate as much of the road ahead as possible. In addition, the Heartbeat DRLs give the Seltos a sleek look and a distinctive character.

Interior and Comfort

The Tata Harrier has dream interiors to go along with its classy exteriors. The signature oak brown dashboard is a treat to watch, with its colour scheme flowing seamlessly into the soft-touch dashboard and the anti-reflective Nappa grain top layer. The beige-coloured upholstery matches with the interiors beautifully while offering tremendous space to stretch your legs comfortably. The Tata Harrier features an 8.8-inches Island infotainment system with 9 JBL speakers to deliver an excellent acoustic experience. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity allow easy navigation, phone calls, and listening to music with a single button press.

While the Kia Seltos comes with an extensive range of exterior colours, it offers a single black tone interior to give a beautiful interior ambience. The high-quality ventilated seats provide the ideal comfort to the occupants by ensuring proper air circulation. One of the exciting aspects of the Kia Seltos interiors is its excellent audio system from Bose with eight speakers to keep you entertained on all your drives. The Seltos has one of the best infotainment systems in its 26.03cm touchscreen system and 17.78cm digital info display. Besides, the Seltos offers a 20.32cm Head-Up display that provides all the information necessary for the driver to ensure a high-quality driving performance. UVO connectivity features are available in the top variants.

Engine and Performance

The Tata Harrier comes with a powerful next-gen Kryotec 170 Turbocharged BS6 diesel engine that delivers 170ps power and 350Nm torque to ensure an effortless driving experience. This engine seamlessly mates to the 6-speed automatic transmission system to make it easy for driving on Indian roads. The highlight of the Tata Harrier is its next-generation multi-drive modes 2.0 that allows the vehicle to encounter any terrain with ease.

The Kia Seltos comes in petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel versions, with the drivers having a choice between three different modes of driving, Normal, Eco, and Sport. The Kia Seltos engine pairs with a new-age iMT, the future of driving that allows you to navigate your vehicle without using the clutch. The Paddle Shifter allows you to shift gears and enjoy an immersive driving experience.

Ride, Handling, and Safety

The Tata Harrier offers high levels of safety with six airbags, including side curtain airbags. Furthermore, the Electronic Stability Program is available as a standard offering on all its vehicles. Other features of ESP include ABS, EBD, CSC, ETC, ESC, HAC, Roll-over mitigation, and others to ensure excellent braking. In addition, the Auto-Dimming IRVM ensures that the driver does not get blinded by the headlights of vehicles trailing you. Other safety features include front fog cornering lamps to enhance the driving experience.

The High Strength Steel structure makes the Seltos a safe vehicle by absorbing the impact in a crash and protecting the occupants. The Seltos offers six airbags to ensure the complete safety of each of its occupants. The Electronic Stability Program offers features like HAC, VSM, and ABS, among others. All four wheels of the Seltos get disc brakes, and the tyre pressure monitor enables you to verify the tyre pressure every time you take the Seltos out for a drive.

CarBike360 Says

The Tata Harrier is available in four trims that branch out to eleven variants comprising manual and automatic transmission options. The Tata Harrier pricing starts from Rs 14.39 lakhs and goes up to Rs 21.09 lakhs for the top-end automatic version.

On the other hand, the Kia Seltos pricing starts from Rs 9.95 lakhs and goes up to Rs 16.65 lakhs. The Seltos offers seven different variants, with the UVO connectivity features available on the top variants.

Pricing-wise, the Kia Seltos is a better option, but the Harrier comes with better features overall that push its prices much further than the Seltos.
