Splendour Plus vs. HF Deluxe Comparison

Hero is the top motorcycle manufacturer in India with a range of excellent vehicles that provide the ultimate enjoyment to millions of customers. In a country where Hero bikes are in plenty, it is natural to compete against each other. The Hero Splendour Plus and Hero HF Deluxe are two popular motorcycles that merit comparison.

Design

The Hero Splendour Plus BS6 has the perfect dimension for a motorcycle at 2000mm x 720mm x 1052mm, with a wheelbase of 1236mm. The ground clearance of 165mm allows the vehicle to clear any obstacle with ease. The Hero Splendour Plus is a lightweight bike amongst equals with a kerb weight of 110Kg. Compared to the Hero Splendour Plus, the Hero HF Deluxe is a smaller bike with dimensions of 1965mm x 720mm x 1045mm and a wheelbase of 1235mm. The fuel tank can accommodate 9.6km petrol, whereas the vehicle weighs 109Kg. The powerful headlight and the attractive tail-lamp arrangement make for an exciting sight. Moreover, the motorcycle has a balanced look to offer an excellent riding experience.

Engine – Performance and Handling

The Hero Splendour Plus features an advanced programmed fuel injection system to deliver excellent mileage. The 100cc air-cooled 4-stroke single cylinder OHC engine delivers maximum power of 5.9 kW @ 8000rpm and torque of 8.05 Nm @ 6000rpm. In addition, the Hero Splendour Plus offers an electric start and a kick start option. The engine pairs with a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox to deliver excellent mileage.

The Hero HF Deluxe comes equipped with an engine similar to the Hero Splendour Plus in all respects. The displacement capacity is the same, and so are its power and torque delivery performances. In addition, the Hero HF Deluxe offers a self-start and kick-start option. This 4-speed constant mesh gearbox ensures good mileage.

Safety Features

From the safety viewpoint, the Hero Splendour is a good bike with telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers for the front wheel to cushion against any impact. Similarly, the rear wheels feature 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers to protect the riders from spinal injuries. Both the wheels get powerful 130mm drum brakes to ensure quality braking. The R18 tyres with tubeless tyres provide the ideal grip on the roads.

The safety features on the Hero HF Deluxe are also similar to the Hero Splendour Plus, with a telescopic hydraulic front shock absorber and a 2-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber to provide absolute comfort to the riders. Furthermore, the 130mm drum brakes on both wheels ensure decent braking performance. In addition, the R18 tyres grip the road perfectly to offer the ideal balance to the vehicle.

Colour Variants and Pricing

The Hero Splendour Plus offers four variants, including the Splendour Plus 100 million editions, with pricing options in the range of Rs 63,750 to Rs 69,060. In addition, the Hero Splendour Plus comes in five colour combinations, four of which are dual-tone variants.

The Hero HF Deluxe offers five colour options with four dual-tone variants. Compared to the Hero Splendour Plus, the Hero HF Deluxe is available in five variants. The pricing starts from Rs 52,900, with the top-end version available for Rs 62,025.

Verdict

Costs-wise, the Hero HF Deluxe is less expensive. Performance-wise, both the vehicles are equals, but the Hero Splendour Plus is a more desirable vehicle.
