The BMW iX commands attention from the moment it comes into view. Its striking and futuristic design language blends seamlessly with the brand's signature aesthetics. The kidney-shaped grille now reimagined as a blank canvas, hints at its electric DNA while promoting a seamless flow of air. But I personally didn’t like the grills that much. The sleek lines, sculpted bodywork, and aerodynamic contours not only enhance its visual appeal but also contribute to its impressive efficiency. At the roof, we see a panorama glass roof sky lounge which is undoubtedly classic.
You can see the gaps and cuts made at the front for better aerodynamics. And we cannot avoid mentioning the frameless doors which we are getting for the first time in I series. You also get 21 inches of alloy wheels, really enhancing the overall look of the Car. It is now big by design, not much of cut and creases but still looking like a showstopper. You can see the rear, which is really subtle and not at all looking like BMW. It’s having pretty sleek taillights which are really slim and delicate. And, how can we miss the diffuser which is giving it a sporty and racy vibe.
Step inside the BMW IX, and you're transported to a world of opulence and innovation. The cabin boasts a minimalist yet sophisticated design, with premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship evident throughout. The use of sustainable materials, such as natural fibres and recycled materials, further reinforces BMW's commitment to eco-conscious luxury.
You get Olive leaf tanned natural leather in colours ( castonea and amido). In this Car, BMW have replaced the chrome totally because here in the interior you will see every element is coated in gold bronze finish. What I really loved is the crystalline gold elements on the door panels and at the centre control. The BMW Curved Display floats almost freely on the spacious instrument panel including 14.9 inches of Central Information Display and the instrument cluster of 12.3 inches.
The iX offers a spacious and comfortable environment for both driver and passengers. The ergonomically designed seats provide exceptional support and can be customised to suit individual preferences. Advanced technology takes centre stage with the BMW Curved Display.
For the first time in the history of BMW, the new BMW iX is steered by a hexagonally shaped steering wheel. The racing-inspired contour of the steering wheel optimises entry and seating comfort as well as the view of the BMW Curved Display, thus visually signalling the start of a new era.
You get Parking Assistant Plus1 which makes even parking the new BMW iX more pleasurable with the help of cameras in the radiator grille, in the exterior mirrors and in the tailgate make manoeuvring and parking easier. You also get the Driving Assistant which provides more comfort and safety for monotonous and unclear driving situations.
The BMW iX harnesses the power of eDrive technology, delivering a thrilling driving experience that's synonymous with the brand. With an electric powertrain boasting impressive outputs, the iX achieves breathtaking acceleration, effortlessly propelling itself from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds. The near-instant torque delivery ensures swift overtakes and a seamless surge of power when needed.Range anxiety becomes a thing of the past with the BMW iX's generous battery capacity, allowing for an impressive electric range.
Whether a short trip to town or a longer journey, the new BMW iX does the job with its very low power consumption of 19.4-22.5kWh/100 km1 . This, coupled with the high battery capacity of over 76 kWh, gives you a range of 425 kilometres (WLTP)1, 2, with zero local emissions.
In addition, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80% in 31 minutes at high-power charging stations (HPC). As that's what makes electric driving fun: flexible reliability that makes the new BMW iX absolutely suitable for long journeys and fits perfectly into your everyday life.
It provides reliable support even in challenging driving situations with a wide range of standard driver assistance systems. The extensive safety equipment includes Lane Departure Warning with lane return and Collision Warning with light braking function. In addition, extensive parking functions such as Reversing Assist Camera with Panorama View, Reversing Assistant and a Park Assist for parallel, perpendicular and confined parking bays are on-board as standard – everything to make you feel perfectly at home on every trip and able to confidently navigate every situation
The all-new BMW iX represents a paradigm shift in electric luxury vehicles. Its exquisite design, luxurious interior, revolutionary performance, intelligent technology, and commitment to sustainability make it a compelling choice for discerning drivers who seek both opulence and environmental consciousness. With its arrival in India, BMW is poised to redefine the EV landscape and pave the way for a greener future in the automotive industry.
