The Datsun brand was founded in 1931 and is owned by Nissan. Datsun is the budget car brand for Nissan globally and the company debuted in India in 2014 with the Go hatchback and has its manufacturing unit in the Renalut-Nissan plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The Go and Redi-go are two of the most popular Datsun cars in India currently.
The company hasn't revealed any plans for electric vehicles in the Indian market and has updated its models with the BS6 norms in 2020.
