Volkswagen group, has just revealed its latest electric car the ID.7 with a new GTX badge, which makes it the 6th ID model to get the sporty GTX Badge.

ID.7 GTX (Red) and ID.7 Pro S (Silver)

Volkswagen has added one more electric car to the list of its high-performance cars by launching the new ID.7 sedan with the much sought GTX emblem on its hood. This particular model comes with a performance package and a regional rating of 340 horsepower, thanks to its dual-motor system. The ID.7 GTX becomes the part of the Volkswagen’s lineup of electric cars powered by GTX label, which was already represented by compact ID.3 hatchback, the stylish and spacious ID.4 SUV, the elongated, elegant ID.5 SUV-coupe, the spacious ID. Buzz MPV, as well as the spacious ID.7 Tourer estate. This addition helps VW to further solidify its electric vehicle strategy by showing that it doesn’t merely apply to sedans, but crossovers as well.

Vlokswagen's ID.7 GTX

The German carmaker has revealed the ID.7 GTX, a high-performance version of the brand’s full-electric flagship sedan the ID.7. This was anticipated as the German auto giant had once hinted at the coming of a performance-oriented version.

The ID.7 GTX also offers the powerful dual-motor setup that features in the ID.Buzz and ID.7 Tourer siblings, with a massive horsepower boost of 54 on the basic version. This translates to a remarkable 0-100 kph acceleration time of only 5.4 seconds as per the specifications provided by the carmaker.

The ID.7 GTX sedan draws its power from the same 86kWh battery pack as the ID.7 Pro S model, with rapid charging capabilities, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes with a 200kW charging input. While Volkswagen has not yet officially disclosed the range for the ID.7 GTX, its driving range may be slightly lower than the ID.7 Pro S variant, due to the GTX’s performance-oriented nature.

ID.7 GTX Interiors

Volkswagen has improved the efficiency of the ID.7 GTX. The car’s structure and suspension have been tuned to cope with extra power, as well as a sharper steering system and optional DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) adaptive damper system. Aerodynamic body modifications are presented by the GTX front bumper, ‘arrowhead’ LEDs DRL (Daytime Running Lights), and gloss black trim. Inside it resembles the GTX Tourer with sports seats, red stitching and GTX logos.

Up to this date, Volkswagen has not revealed the ID. 7 GTX sedan for India, however, the company is working on a mass-market electric car under the PEAK EV project that is likely to be launched in India around 2026.
