It’s been quite an eventful year so far for the Indian auto industry. Be it the all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Creta N-Line, Toyota Taisor or the Mahindra 3XO, quite a few prominent models have already hit the road in the first six months of 2024 and there are more to come in the remaining part of the year. So yes! The action is likely to continue and here is a list of the top 5 upcoming cars we can expect to be launched in the last six months of 2024:

Upcoming Cars in 2024

Mahindra Thar 5 Door (Armada)

The Mahindra Thar 5 Door or the Armada as we expect it to be called, has been one of the highly anticipated upcoming launches and we expect it to be launched around August 2024. The Thar has been very well received by the SUV lover community and the idea with the 5-Door Thar is to make it more accessible, by the means of seating layout and more space in the boot. Engine choices are expected to remain unchanged and spy pictures indicate that the new Mahindra Armada will be well loaded with creature comforts like sunroof, a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated seats and connected car tech among others.

EXPECTED PRICE: Rs. 14 lakh – Rs. 18 lakh

New-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire

The new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift launched in India in May this year and the Dzire is likely to follow in the second-half of 2024. Just like the new Swift, expect it to get the new Z-Series 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, a thorough design update and modern features like Suzuki’s latest 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen, Arkamys Sound System, wireless charging and head-up display among others.

EXPECTED PRICE: Rs. 6.99 lakh – Rs. 9.90 lakh

Tata Curvv and Curvv EV

The Tata Curvv concept made quite the buzz at the Auto Expo last year and the production model is likely to hit the road in 2024. Rivalling the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara among others, the Tata Curvv will be a fresh offering in the burgeoning compact SUV space, featuring a coupe like fastback silhouette. It is likely to be offered in both petrol and diesel avatars while an all-electric version under Tata’s ‘.ev’ badge is likely to follow as well, delivering an expected claimed range of up to 500 km. Just like all modern-age Tata cars, even the Curvv is expected to be loaded to its gills with features like, a 12.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, connected tech, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof among others.

Kia Carnival

The Kia Carnival MPV is expected to make a comeback this year as well, and in its new-gen avatar. The MPV is expected to be better in all departments and extremely well-loaded on the inside with features like powered and cooled seats in the front and second rows, powered rear and boot door, ultra-comfortable ottoman seats in the second row, dual-sunroof, rear entertainment screens, Bose Premium surround system and a single pane screen integrating the 10.25-inch touchscreen and digital-instrument cluster. It is offered with multiple engine options in the global markets, but India is likely to continue with the 2.0-litre diesel engine.

Nissan X-Trail

We can finally expect some action from Nissan this year! The Japanese carmaker had shared plans on launching multiple SUVs and the new Nissan X-Trail is expected to hit the road this year itself. It is expected to be offered in both 5-seater and 7-seater options. It is likely to feature an hybrid powertrain with an ePOWER drive system along with the petrol engine, while an all-wheel-drive is likely to be on offer as well. That said, unlike the previous true-blue Nissan X-Trail SUV which was on sale in India, the new X-Trail will be positioned as a mid-size SUV.
