Key Highlights:
Toyota Taisor Vs Maruti Fronx: Toyota Taisor is the latest product in Toyota’s house which is essentially a rebadged Maruti Fronx. Being a rebadged car, the Toyota Taisor is now creating confusion in the minds of customers about which one should they choose or which of these sub-compact SUVs is more value for money in the segment. If you are also stuck in the same dilemma, this article is especially for you. Here, we will compare the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor and Maruti Fronx in detail, keeping in mind the specs of both these cars. Swipe up to dive deep into a detailed comparison.
As far as the design language is concerned, both these cars exhibit a similar design, which is obvious because Taisor is a rebadged version of Maruti Fronx. But that doesn’t mean there are no differences in the design as both Taisor and Fronx feature some major differences in the exteriors. Instead of the tri-units that come with Maruti Fronx, the Taisor gets a Toyota badge in the middle and redesigned stacked LED DRLs. Apart from this, Toyota has also added new wheels which are the same as the Fronx.
Talking about the rear profile, both cars get the same design at the rear, except for the Toyota badging on the Taisor. Another noticeable thing about the Taisor is the dual-tone colour scheme which Maruti does not provide with the Fronx
The set of features is largely the same on both cars, which varies according to the variant. Some major features such as the touchscreen infotainment system with phone mirroring, heads-up-display, climate control, 360-degree camera, LED lights, height adjustable driver seat, electrically powered sunroof, windows and mirrors and connected car tech with smartwatch connectivity.
So, now it's clear that there are no differences in the features as no car is less or more equipped, but the colour scheme can be a game changer here also.
The Toyota Taisor comes powered by a 1.2-litre petrol unit which generates a maximum power of 88 bhp and a peak torque of 113 Nm. Another engine option is the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine which is capable of producing 99 bhp of power and 148 Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre engine comes paired with a five-speed manual and five-speed AMT unit and the turbo petrol mill comes mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic torque converter.
If we talk about the 1.2-litre engine which powers both Taisor and Fronx, there is a significant disparity of Rs. 25000 which varies according to the variant. While the 1.0-litre turbo petrol mill, there’s a nominal price difference of Rs. 1000 between the Fronx and the Taisor.
Under the surface modifications, the Toyota Taisor is the same vehicle as the Maruti Fronx, which is why it is a rebranded Maruti Fronx. The majority of the features, including the powertrains, interiors, and features, are shared by both vehicles, thus its quality, performance, and other characteristics are the same. As the Taisor has recently entered the market, it is a newer and less prevalent than the Fronx, which has been on sale in India since April 2023. Therefore, the Taisor is the right choice if exclusivity is your goal. Compared to Maruti's two years, Toyota's normal warranty is longer- three years, but both companies can provide extended warranties of up to five years. Select the one you believe appears best among the two. We suggest you keep your needs and requirements in mind before finalizing the one.
