Maruti Suzuki Swift emerged as the best-selling car in May 2024, with the company sending 19,393 units in response to strong demand, as shown by approximately 40,000 bookings. Tata Punch remained India's best-selling SUV in May 2024, selling nearly 19,000 units, just 444 units behind the Swift, which ranked second. The Maruti Dzire, which benefited from increased taxi demand, finished third with over 16,000 units sent. Hyundai's Creta retained its position as the best-selling mid-SUV, entering the Top 5 in May 2024.

Whereas the Wagon R and Baleno saw significant declines in sales compared to last year, with the Wagon R dropping by 11% and the Baleno by 31%. These two hatchbacks are experiencing month-by-month decreases in sales.
