Tata Motors continues to set new benchmarks in vehicle safety with its latest achievement. The Tata Punch.ev has received a prestigious 5-star rating for both adult and child occupant safety in tests conducted by the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP).
Tata Punch.ev, the EMP+ S LR variant, has been crash tested at BNCAP. This compact SUV, with a gross vehicle weight of 1626 kg, is designed and manufactured in India.
BNCAP, India's own car crash test assessment unit, was introduced last year to advance vehicle and road safety standards in the country. This initiative aims to provide consumers with crucial information about the safety of vehicles available in the market.
In a statement released today via its LinkedIn page, Bharat NCAP announced that the Punch.ev scored an impressive 5-star rating in both adult and child safety standards. The Punch EV, priced between INR 10.99 lakh and INR 15.49 lakh, has been one of the top-selling cars in India, and this rating further reinforces its reputation for safety.

This achievement marks Tata's fourth 5-star rating under the Bharat NCAP test protocols. Tata Motors has been a pioneer in vehicle safety, being the first manufacturer to volunteer for crash testing under BNCAP. Previous models like the Tata Safari and Tata Harrier also received 5-star ratings, followed by the Tata Nexon.ev, which became the third car to achieve this distinction.
With the Tata Punch.ev's stellar performance, Tata Motors continues to lead the way in enhancing vehicle safety standards in India, setting a high bar for other manufacturers to follow.
