With the recent launch of Nissan Magnite at the introductory price of ₹5.99 lakh it is available for mass market. Nissan Magnite vs Tata Punch vs Hyundai Exter

We are are comparing all three based on several criterias like: Engine, performance, price, interior and exterior features. So it's up to you to identify the best one for you according to your requirements. 

Engine and Performance Comparison


Nissan Magnite comes in four different engine options: 1.0 Litre NA Petrol with 5MT & 5 AMT and 1.0 Litre Turbo Petrol with 5MT and CVT. 

Tata Punch comes in three engine configurations: 1.2Litre revotron petrol engine with 5MT/5AT and 1.2Litre Petrol+CNG engine with 5MT. 

Hyundai Exter also comes in three engine options as the Tata punch and also with the same displacement: 1.2litre Petrol engine with 5MT/5AT and 1.2litre Petrol+CNG with 5MT.

As you can see the only Nissan Magnite comes with the performance engine with turbo petrol option but it does not have CNG options and if we talk about Punch and Exter both of them have 1.2L engine and also comes with CNG option. So if you are looking for a performance engine with sporty feel you can opt for Nissan Magnite and in terms of lower running cost you can choose Punch and Exter with CNG option. But also all of them feature a normal petrol engine too, in this you can look out for more specifications before making your decision. 

Interior Features Comparison

Let’s look inside in all these three cars, what Punch, Exter and Magnite has to offer in Interior features. We have covered dashboard, screens, seats, storage and other features: 

Dashboard and Infotainment

Tata Punch: Has a semi-digital instrument cluster with a simple black and white dashboard. Smooth connectivity is provided via an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Hyundai Exter: With a dual-tone dashboard and body-colored components, this car displays a more vibrant style. It features an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen that is marginally bigger and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 4.2-inch color TFT MID is also included for important vehicle information.

Nissan Magnite: The Magnite has had a redesign, and its soft-touch leatherette dashboard is orange and black. Its 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is combined with a 7-inch digital driver's display with enhanced graphics, offers wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.  

Seating and Upholstery

Tata Punch: Provides dual-toned cloth upholstery. Higher variations with premium cloth upholstery improve the feel of the cabin.

Hyundai Exter: The front seats have Exter logo and the interior is semi-leatherette. For a more dynamic appearance, the black interior motif can be customised with various colored inlays.

Nissan Magnite: Following the bold black and orange concept, this car has dual-tone leatherette upholstery. There is a centre armrest with cupholders and a phone holder for the use of rear passengers.

Climate Control

Tata Punch: To guarantee comfort in a range of weather conditions, higher trim levels offer automatic climate control.

Hyundai Exter: Takes things a step further by including rear AC vents and fully automated temperature control (FATC), which guarantee a more comfortable ride for backseat passengers.

Nissan Magnite: This model also has automatic climate control with rear air conditioning vents, which enables even cooling inside the cabin.

Storage and Convenience

Tata Punch: Has useful storage areas like door pockets, cup holders, and a cooled glovebox. Convenience is increased with the flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls.

Hyundai Exter: Offers contemporary amenities such a chilled glovebox, footwell illumination, and a wireless charging. The steering wheel, covered in leather, has buttons for the cruise control and music system.

Nissan Magnite: The Magnite has several USB charging connections, including Type-C, a wireless phone charger, a cooled glovebox, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with contrast stitching. Functionality and style are guaranteed by this mix of features.

Tata Punch: This car has a 6-speaker Harman sound system that provides decent sounds.
