Mercedes Benz will add another EV in its India lineup by launching the new 2024 EQA on 8th June. The entry level electric SUV will be the 4th EV in India from the German luxury car maker. Other 3 being the EQS, the EQE and the EQB. Once launched, the 2024 EQA will be the most affordable electric Mercedes in India and it will rival the likes of the Volvo XC40 Recharge and the BMW iX1. Lets take a look at all the key details of the 2024 Mercedes EQA.
The India bound 2024 Mercedes Benz EQA is a facelift of the EQA that was revealed in August 2023. On the outside, the new facelifted EQA gets a blacked out & closed front grille. The grille comes embedded with Mercedes’s signature tri star pattern. Also, it gets the full width LED light bar placed above the grille, connecting the two headlamps.
Coming to the rear profile, the 2024 EQA offers a connected LED tail lamp setup and side air curtains lower down the bumper. Its rear design looks some what similar to the EQB.
On the inside, the EQA comes with features like a fully digital drivers display, a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment running the latest version of MBUX, Burmester branded audio setup with Dolby Atmos support, etc. The three spoke steering wheel of the EQA also comes with touch capacitive controls.
Although there is no confirmation about specs like the battery pack and the electric motor of the India bound EQA, it is available in international markets in 4 different powertrain options. These include EQA 250, EQA 300 4Matic and EQA 350 4Matic, all of which come with a 66.5 kWh battery pack and a max range of 528 km (WLTP). Moreover, there’s also a fourth variant i.e. the EQA 250+. This variant comes with a bigger 70.5 kWh battery pack and a max range of 560 km (WLTP).
Mercedes is likely to price the EQA slightly lower than the EQB. The EQB is priced at Rs 77.75 Lakh (ex-showroom). Thus we can expect the EQA to be somewhere around Rs 60 Lakh to Rs 70 Lakh mark. On the competition front, it will be rivalling the likes of the Volvo XC40 Recharge, the BMW iX1 and the Kia EV6.
