In June 2023, Ather sold 6,479 units, an increase of 100.5% over the corresponding period the previous year but the manufacturer enrolled a decline of 57.53 per cent in volumes because of cost climbs going from Rs 20,500 to Rs 30,000 with the standard version presently retailing at ₹1.28 lakh, and the Ather 450X Pro Pack priced at ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Ather Energy June 2023 Sales: YoY and MoM comparison| Time period | June’23 | June’22 | YoY Growth | May’23 | MoM Growth ||-------------|----------|----------|-------------|--------|------------|| EV Sales | 6,479 | 3,231 | 100.5% | 15,256 | -57.5% |
Due to decreased FAME 2 subsidies and higher product prices, the firm anticipated a decline in EV sales. While Ather sold 15,256 units in May of this year, its domestic sales in June of 2022 were 3,231 units.
Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy reported that they predicted the drop in sales in June 2023 due to the recent price increase and consumers making purchases in May. Despite the higher-than-expected drop, they are hopeful that the industry will recover in the next 2-3 months.
He further added, “We have always believed that the subsidy should be eliminated gradually over time so that customers may acclimate to more accurate market prices. From a long-term viewpoint, even while it has an influence on the short-term financial situation, this is unquestionably a positive development. We also kept growing our retail presence in India, and as of right now there are 131 Experience Centers spread across 90 cities.”
