Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert is an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature that is designed to enhance safety and prevent accidents on the road. This feature uses sensors, cameras, and radar technology to detect the movements of the vehicle in front of you, and alerts you when that vehicle begins to move.

The purpose of this feature is to prevent accidents that can occur when a driver is distracted or not paying attention and the vehicle in front of them starts moving. For example, if you are waiting at a stop sign or traffic light and the vehicle in front of you starts to move, the system will detect the movement and alert you with a warning signal, such as an audible or visual alert. This gives you more time to react and avoid a potential collision.

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert is just one of many ADAS features that are designed to improve driver safety and prevent accidents on the road.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Junction Turning (FCA-JT)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Junction Turning (FCA-JT) is an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature that helps drivers avoid collisions when turning at intersections. This feature uses cameras and radar sensors to detect oncoming vehicles and pedestrians, and it provides a warning to the driver if there is a risk of collision.

FCA-JT is designed to work in situations where a driver is turning left or right at an intersection and may have limited visibility of oncoming traffic or pedestrians. If the system detects a potential collision, it will first provide a warning to the driver, such as an audible or visual alert. If the driver does not respond to the warning, the system may take action to avoid the collision by automatically applying the brakes or steering the vehicle away from the oncoming obstacle.

This ADAS feature can be especially useful in situations where a driver may be distracted or have reduced visibility due to weather conditions, such as rain or fog. By providing an extra layer of protection, FCA-JT can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) and Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) and Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW) are two related Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features that are designed to enhance driver awareness and prevent accidents caused by blind spots.

Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW) uses sensors, such as radar or ultrasonic sensors, to detect vehicles in the driver's blind spot. When a vehicle is detected in the blind spot, the system will provide a warning to the driver, such as an audible or visual alert, to let them know that it is not safe to change lanes.

Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) is a more advanced version of BCW that not only warns the driver but also takes action to prevent a collision. If the driver attempts to change lanes while a vehicle is in their blind spot, the system will intervene by applying the brakes or providing steering assistance to help the driver avoid a collision.

Both BCW and BCA can be especially helpful in situations where a driver may not be able to see other vehicles in their blind spot, such as when driving on a crowded highway or in heavy traffic. By providing an extra layer of protection, these ADAS features can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) are two related Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features that are designed to prevent accidents caused by forward collisions.
Forward Collision Warning (FCW) uses sensors, such as radar or cameras, to detect the distance between the driver's vehicle and the vehicle in front of them.

When the system detects that the distance is decreasing rapidly and a collision may occur, it provides a warning to the driver, such as an audible or visual alert, to encourage them to take action and avoid the collision.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) is a more advanced version of FCW that not only warns the driver but also takes action to prevent a collision. If the system detects that a collision is imminent and the driver does not take action, the system will intervene by applying the brakes or providing steering assistance to help the driver avoid the collision.

Both FCW and FCA can be especially helpful in situations where a driver may not be able to see the vehicle in front of them, such as when driving in heavy traffic or in adverse weather conditions. By providing an extra layer of protection, these ADAS features can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Cycle (FCA-CYL)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Cycle (FCA-C) is an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature that is designed to help prevent collisions between a vehicle and a bicycle or pedestrian. This feature uses sensors, cameras, and radar technology to detect the presence of bicycles or pedestrians in front of the vehicle and alerts the driver if a collision is imminent.

FCA-C works by first detecting the presence of a bicycle or pedestrian in front of the vehicle. If the system determines that a collision is likely to occur, it will provide a warning to the driver, such as an audible or visual alert, to encourage them to take action and avoid the collision.

If the driver does not take action and a collision is still imminent, the system will intervene by applying the brakes or providing steering assistance to help the driver avoid the collision.

FCA-C is especially useful in situations where a driver may not be able to see a bicycle or pedestrian due to obstructed visibility or poor lighting conditions. By providing an extra layer of protection, this ADAS feature can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Pedestrian (FCA-Ped)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Pedestrian (FCA-P) is an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature that is designed to help prevent collisions between a vehicle and a pedestrian. This feature uses sensors, cameras, and radar technology to detect the presence of pedestrians in front of the vehicle and alert the driver if a collision is imminent.

FCA-P works by first detecting the presence of a pedestrian in front of the vehicle.

FCA-P is especially useful in situations where a driver may not be able to see a pedestrian due to obstructed visibility or poor lighting conditions. By providing an extra layer of protection, this ADAS feature can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

High Beam Assist (HBM)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

High Beam Assist (HBA) is an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature that is designed to enhance driver visibility and safety during night-time driving. The feature uses sensors, such as cameras or radar, to detect the presence of other vehicles on the road and automatically switches between high and low beams as necessary.

When the system detects that there are no other vehicles on the road, it will automatically switch on the high beams, providing maximum visibility to the driver. However, if the system detects the presence of another vehicle in front of the driver's vehicle or approaching from the opposite direction, it will automatically switch to low beams to prevent blinding the other driver.

HBA can be especially helpful in rural or dark areas where there are fewer street lights and more opportunities for drivers to encounter unexpected hazards on the road. By ensuring that the driver always has the best possible visibility while also minimizing the risk of blinding other drivers, HBA can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Lane Following Assist (LFA)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

Lane Following Assist (LFA) is an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature that is designed to help drivers stay centered in their lane while driving on highways or in heavy traffic. The feature uses cameras and sensors to detect the lane markings on the road and provides steering assistance to keep the vehicle centred in the lane.

When LFA is engaged, the system will track the position of the vehicle within the lane and provide subtle steering inputs to keep the vehicle centered. The system can also adjust the vehicle's speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front, based on the traffic conditions.

LFA is especially useful in heavy traffic or on long highway drives, where drivers may become fatigued and lose focus on the road. By providing an extra layer of assistance, LFA can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) is an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature that is designed to help drivers stay within their lane while driving. The feature uses cameras and sensors to detect the lane markings on the road and provides steering assistance to keep the vehicle from drifting out of its lane unintentionally.
When LKA is engaged, the system will monitor the vehicle's position within the lane and provide gentle steering inputs to keep the vehicle centered. If the vehicle starts to drift out of its lane without the turn signal being activated, the system will provide an audible or visual alert to the driver to bring their attention back to the road.

LKA is especially useful in situations where drivers may be distracted or fatigued and at risk of drifting out of their lane. By providing an extra layer of assistance, LKA can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Safe Exit Warning (SEW)

13 New Hyundai Verna Level 2 ADAS Features Explained in Detail

SEW uses sensors and cameras to detect approaching traffic and alert the passengers in the vehicle if it is not safe to open the door. The system can also prevent the door from opening fully or apply the brakes if it detects an imminent collision.

SEW is especially useful in urban areas with heavy traffic or in situations where parked cars are close to a busy street or bike lane. By providing an extra layer of safety, SEA can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) & Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW)
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW) are Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features designed to help drivers avoid collisions while backing up.
RCCW uses sensors such as radar, cameras, or ultrasonic sensors to detect approaching vehicles or obstacles from the sides when backing up. If the system detects a vehicle or obstacle, it will alert the driver with a visual or audible warning.

RCCA goes one step further by actively applying the brakes to prevent a collision. If the system detects that a collision is imminent, it will automatically apply the brakes to prevent the vehicle from hitting the obstacle or vehicle.

RCCW and RCCA are particularly useful in parking lots or other situations where visibility is limited and there is a higher risk of collisions. By providing an extra layer of assistance, these features can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW)

DAW uses sensors such as cameras and steering sensors to analyze the driver's behaviour, such as steering patterns and eye movement. If the system detects signs of drowsiness or distraction, such as a lack of steering input or an extended period with eyes off the road, it will provide an alert to the driver to bring their attention back to the road.

DAW is especially useful for long highway drives or when driving at night, when drivers may become fatigued and lose focus on the road. By providing an extra layer of assistance, DAW can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

LDW is especially useful for long highway drives or when driving at night, when drivers may become fatigued and lose focus on the road. By providing an extra layer of assistance, LDW can help prevent accidents and improve overall road safety.

Conclusion

It's important to note that while ADAS Features can help reduce the risk of accidents, they are not a substitute for safe and attentive driving. Drivers should always be aware of their surroundings and use their mirrors and turn signals to check for other vehicles before changing lanes.
