2023 Tata Safari Facelift has launched in India with an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 16.19 lakh. The 3-row SUV has been introduced in four trims: Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished. Tata has also offered panoramic sunroof (optional) in its Pure+ trim and ADAS (optional) in Adventure+ trim.
As of now, Tata has shared only the starting price of all available models of the Safari facelift and the complete price list is anticipated to be announced soon. The base variant of the 2023 Safari facelift, Smart trim, is priced from Rs 16.19 lakh, while the top model, Accomplished+, is priced from Rs 25.49 lakh. Moreover, the prices for automatic and dark trims commence from Rs 20.69 lakh, ex-showroom.
The 2023 Safari facelift retains its exterior from its predecessor but now boasts modern elements like connected DRLs at the front, a sleeker grille, an upgraded bumper, a skid plate, and vertically configured LED headlights. The side profile of this sub-compact 3-row SUV remained almost the same, but now it has 19-inch alloy wheels and “Safari” badging on the front doors. The Safari logo at the rear side is now bigger and has been offered in three new color schemes: Cosmic Gold, Supernova Copper, and Lunar Slate.
Changes can also be noticed inside the cabin area of the Safari facelift. The SUV now gets a four-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo—additional upgrades include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and touch-sensitive climate control. For automatic trims, the carmaker has tried offering Land Rover-style gear levers and a chic-looking drive mode selector with a display. Safari car buyers have the new 10.25-inch digital driver display for a better driving experience.
Apart from the above-mentioned features, Tata has offered seven airbags, a knee airbag, a powered tailgate with a gesture-based opening, and a 10-speaker JBL sound system. The SUV has ventilated front and second-row seats, a panoramic sunroof (optional), keyless entry with push-button start, and connected car technology. Additionally, the facelift offers a 360-degree camera, TPMS, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking.
While many speculations were anticipating, the Safari facelift doesn’t get any petrol powertrain. The SUV retains a 170PS 2-liter diesel engine from its predecessor and a 6-speed automatic/manual transmission. The AMT trims of the 2023 Tata Safari facelift claim to offer 14.08 kmpl, while MT trims offer 16.14 kmpl of fuel mileage.
With a series of updates and a comprehensive suite of features, the Tata Safari facelift rivals the likes of MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai Alcazar.
